Changes to the Star Energy Rating System
Allianz amend their Home and Landlord policies in response to changes to the Star Energy Rating System.
Recent changes to the Star Energy Rating system by the Australian Government have resulted in a need to clarify the wording regarding replacing household appliances under the contents cover of Allianz Household insurance policies.
Changes to the old wording in the PDS will be implemented via an Endorsement on the Schedule. From 21 January the wording for this Endorsement and any existing Endorsements will read:Additional Conditions And Endorsements Applying To The Policy
The following condition(s) and/or endorsement(s) apply to this insurance. Where applicable, they will replace any terms, conditions or exclusions contained in the Policy Document.
Applicable only when you have contents cover
If the claim relates to loss or damage to refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, clothes dryers and dishwashers, we will replace these items with items that have equal or better energy efficiency, based on energy consumption, where available.
